Presbyterian Women Honorary Life Membership

Each year the Presbyterian Women confer their Honorary Life Membership Award upon a woman or man in recognition of faithful service in some area of the life of the church’s work.  On May 1, 2022 this honor was conferred on David Webb.

A life-long Presbyterian and 33-year member of our church, David Webb has been described as an unsung hero in the trenches.  He has served at least four terms as a church elder and been on almost every church committee including Property Management, Finance, Christian Education, Worship & Music, Membership and Technology & Communications.  In addition to the skills needed on various committees, David’s skill sets vary from a mastery of the push mower and weed trimmer to computers, websites, and web connectivity.  He has also played a critical role on the lights and soundboard system that enables our church to tape and live-stream church services.

Be a Vibrant Church Member

To be a true disciple of Christ takes more than occupying a pew on Sunday morning.  Active church members recognize that we all have a responsibility to help fulfill the Great Commission as stated in the Bible in Matthew 28:19-20.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

How can you do that?  Become involved in the life of the church.  Some members lead a study group or serve on a committee (click here for an overview of church committees).  Some sing in the choir or usher.  Still others help with potlucks, plan events, work in the church garden, or help make quilts and knit baby caps.  Whatever your talents and interests are, there is a place for you.

If you know where you would like to serve or want to explore possible options, contact Pastor Valerie Bell who can put you in touch with the right person.
