Welcome!

We are First Presbyterian Church of Rogers

We are a small but growing, vibrant congregation. Our focus is on making disciples for Christ through our Bible-based worship, study, service, and fellowship. We believe that the church family is to be faithful and fruitful. When we trust and obey God, we are walking the walk, one step at a time.

ABOUT THE PRESBYTERY

Presbyterian Church, U.S.A.

Our church is a Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) congregation. We are part of the Presbytery of Arkansas, which consists of 91 churches spread throughout most of our state.

We are excited that you have sought us out! If you think that our church sounds fun, interesting, or different somehow…if you want to learn how to be a Christ-centered Christian at a church that “lives” Christ instead of just talking about Jesus…come check us out!

Mission & Purpose

We are a church that values relationship building: among members, within committees, in communities throughout the denomination, and with ecumenical and interfaith partners.

We are a church that aspires to empower all voices: seeking consensus whenever possible while providing space for mutual discernment and practice.

We are a church that upholds a faithful theology and practice of stewardship: care for the earth through sustainable gatherings, health and safety of all in light of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, financial realities while providing space and freeing funds for innovative ministry rather than convention-style gatherings, and enlivening an expansive public theology that speaks to the world with a distinctive Reformed-Presbyterian voice.

Watch the video above for a short explainer on what the Presbyterian Church believes and how it operates.

Our Beliefs

We are people from all walks of life.

We are people of varied race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, economic situation, and level of ability, all welcome to fully participate in the life and ministries of this congregation.

We are not only friendly to all our visitors, but form lasting friendships. At First Presbyterian Church of Rogers, new members quickly engage in community opportunities to serve and grow in the love of God.

Inspirational Worship

You’re always invited to worship with us. Sunday worship is enhanced with music from our choir, soloists, and instrumental groups throughout the year. The sacrament of Holy Communion is typically celebrated once a month on the first Sunday of the month. First Presbyterian Church is a diverse, inclusive congregation where everybody is welcome. Our facilities are handicapped accessible so that all may participate.

Authentic Congregants

As a congregation, we reach out to those not presently part of a Christian community; we promote peace, justice and human dignity; we offer ourselves in faithful and loving service to God and to all people; we deepen our faith and discipleship through worship, study, prayer, stewardship, service and all means of grace.

Thoughtful Discipleship

As Presbyterians, we emphasize active participation in ministry and worship for all members. The real ministry belongs to the membership of the church, not a special group of clergy set apart from the rest. Presbyterians follow a stated, inspirational liturgy in services of worship.

Thoughtful reading and analysis of scriptures and prayer are essentials of worship. The liturgy is designed to include the entire congregation in worship — just as ministry includes all members.

Compassionate Outreach

We look beyond our local church and actively engage with our Northwest Arkansas community through acts of service. Our congregation is passionate about several different volunteer programs from NWA Food Bank and Samaritan House to Souls Harbor and the First Presbyterian Early Learning Center.
