Read the Bible in a Year in just 15 minutes a day!

Thousands of people try to read the Bible and fail. They usual die a slow death around Leviticus or Numbers. In fact, Leviticus is  referred to as the boneyard of Bible readers. Good news – You don’t have to be one of those people.

You can cruise through the Bible if you just have a sensible plan and few simple strategies. For example, most people try to read cover to cover. This usually doesn’t work well. If you develop a strong habit of reading before hitting hard sections you can glide through them. We have a plan that helps you do exactly that.

SIX REASONS WHY THIS PLAN WORKS

1) Realistic daily assignments. Most days are three chapters, some times more if the chapters are short or it allows you to read a short book in one setting.

2) Alternating between Old and New Testament. Many people fail if they try to read the bible cover to cover. Parts of the Old Testament are tough to get through if you don’t have a well established discipline of reading. Interspersing New Testament books should keep your attention engaged.

3) Combining similar types of content together. You will notice that the books aren’t covered necessarily in the order they appear in the bible. When I have done so it has been to enhance your read of the text. For example, I placed Revelation after Ezekiel and Daniel because much of the apocalyptic imagery of that book comes from those two Old Testament Prophets.

4) Spreading the Gospels throughout the year.

5) Breaking up the Psalms. There are a 150 chapters to the Psalms. Reading them straight through could become monotonous, so I have broken the book up into large sections of chapters and interspersed them between other Old Testament readings.

6) A printable plan with check boxes so you can track your progress.

FOCUS ON DEVELOPING A READING HABIT, NOT FINISHING

Second, developing a solid habit is actually where you need to focus. If you focus on daily reading rather than just getting through you’ll crush it.  You’ll become a lifelong reader and effortlessly read the Bible as many times as you want. Wouldn’t that be awesome!

So, what’s the secret to nailing down daily reading? The number one thing you can do to establish a solid daily habit is to have a set time and place for reading. This can be at the kitchen table before breakfast, an easy chair in your living room at the end of the day, or in bed before you sleep. The key is anchoring your habit to something you already do daily.

Don’t believe it is that simple? Well, people using this bible reading program were surveyed thirty days after beginning and those who had a set time and place for reading were five times more likely to still be reading. That’s right – Five times!!!
