When and Where?

Sunday Worship begins at 10:30 a.m.  We are located at 1901 S. 26th. Before service,  enjoy a cup of coffee and meet some members.

Dress Code: Come As You Are

At First Presbyterian Church, we want you to feel at ease. Whether you prefer jeans and a t-shirt or a suit and tie, your comfort is important to us. Wear what makes you feel most yourself. You’ll find a welcoming space where everyone is appreciated for who they are, not what they wear.

Our Worship Service: Traditional Yet Relaxed

Our worship service at First Presbyterian Church follows a rich tradition which brings a sense of depth and reverence to our time together. You’ll receive a bulletin to guide you through the service, which includes hymn singing, scripture readings, a thoughtful sermon, and communal prayers.

Our pastor comes out from behind the pulpit and preach’s conversationally and offers practical guidance for spiritual growth. He’s never going to read a sermon to you, which makes for a relaxed and engaging experience.

Welcoming, not pushy

No surprise spotlights – We won’t ask guests to stand or introduce themselves during the service. If you’d like to connect, we invite you to do so after worship—but only if and when you’re ready.

Just relax and enjoy the service.

Participate at Your Own Pace

Every thing we say or do is laid out for you in the bulletin. Plus, our pastor and worship leaders are great about cueing what we are about to do next. Some of our prayers are said together or responsively, meaning a worship leaders says something and we respond, but again it will all be right there in the bulletin. And you aren’t required to join in. No one’s going judge you for choosing to only do what you are comfortable with.

Children Are Always Welcome

What about children?

At First Presbyterian Church, we believe children are a vital part of our community, and we welcome them with open arms. Be sure to pick up an children’s activity bag in the entryway when you arrive.

Each Sunday we have a children’s time with the pastor during worship and the kids are free afterwards to leave worship for a Sunday school type experience for the remainder of worship.

If your child isn’t comfortable joining in, they can stay with you throughout worship. Sometimes parents or grandparents will come up front for the childen’s message with their children until they feel comfortable.

The bottom line – Whether your child is full of energy or prefers to sit quietly, they are always welcome to join us in worship and participate at whatever level will make them feel at home.

By the way – We have an extraordinary preschool. If you are looking for a year-round, five day a week program, check out our Early Learning Center.
